I was PA to the MD at Colgate-Palmolive when I first met Julia, I think if was about 2004. She started walking at lunchtimes with a few of us and we thought it would be fun to power walk socially so we met in the evenings and at weekends. We decided to walk for charity and chose the Playtex Moonwalk to raise funds for breast cancer.
Julia was an intelligent, kind and caring friend. She took part in the 2006 Playtex Moonwalk with us and here are some photos.
I remember how much Julia loved her yoga and painting, and being one of her friends was to benefit from her calming and tranquil nature. I have one of her paintings framed on the wall of hour sitting room and I shall treasure it always.
I hadn't seen Julia in a couple of years and regret that but I know she was surrounded by her loving family. Rest in peace now Julia, as the best Buddhist traditions say: "Om shanti shanti shanti" I wish you (peace in body, spirit and mind).
